The protected island

Où veux-tu aller ?

16 km² • Approx. 900 residents

Sixty kilometres long, with just two passes and a lagoon so pristine that UNESCO has designated it a biosphere reserve. Divers come from all over the world to explore the southern pass of Tumakohua, where hundreds of grey reef sharks hover motionless against the current. The rest of the atoll moves at the pace of two villages and a handful of pearl farms.
